CATHOLIC ALLIANCE FOR PEOPLE SEEKING ASYLUM
SEPTEMBER 2016 BULLETIN
We believe that together we CAN make a difference, starting with small acts of kindness and hospitality and becoming a collective voice demanding more compassionate asylum seeker policies.
121 Catholic schools take action and stand in solidarity
During National Child Protection Week, CAPSA facilitated a week of
solidarity prayer and action for people seeking asylum across Catholic
schools nationally. 121 schools took part and added their voices to the
call for our political leaders to resolve the crisis at detention
centres on Nauru and Manus Island and #BringThemHere.
More than 12,000 students were involved in the week, and we reached close to 250,000 people through our Catholic school network. Thanks to all who were involved!
You can see more about the different events on our website.

Malcolm Turnbull has lauded, as the world’s best refugee policy and a
shining light to the rest of the world, a system that has resettled no
refugees over three years.
CAPSA reflects on the current situation and the great cost that comes with current treatment of people seeking asylum. Published in Eureka Street.
Donate to CAPSA
To continue the great work we do, we are currently seeking ongoing funding to fund our project costs into 2017. If you, your school, parish or workplace is able to give to CAPSA, please follow the instructions on our website.
Help CAPSA continue supporting Catholics to stand in solidarity with refugees.
