CATHOLIC ALLIANCE FOR PEOPLE SEEKING ASYLUM
JANUARY 2017 BULLETIN
We believe that together we CAN make a difference, starting with small acts of kindness and hospitality and becoming a collective voice demanding more compassionate asylum seeker policies.
Get involved in CAPSA’s community conversation project
Running a community conversation is a great way for people to learn about the issues affecting people seeking asylum, and join the discussion about how we can be treating people with dignity and respect. These small-scale, personal conversations are often one of the most effective ways to encourage someone to change their position on an issue.
We are developing a toolkit to help our members run conversations in their local community.
Express your interest to attend, host or facilitate a community conversation here.
Volunteer with CAPSA
We are currently seeking some new volunteers to join our team and help us make 2017 a powerful year of action and change. We are currently seeking the following volunteers:
- National Week of Prayer & Action School Engagement Officers – Melbourne
- CAPSA NSW State Coordinator – Sydney
- National Week of Prayer & Action Media Interns – Melbourne
Email us to express interest in these volunteer roles and request a position description.
Donate to CAPSA
Following two years of generous support from Cabrini Health, CAPSA is currently seeking ongoing funding to help us continue our great work into the future. If you, your parish or workplace are able to support CAPSA financially, please donate via our website.
Every dollar will help us to work within the Catholic community to take bold, courageous action to support people seeking asylum. All donations over $2 are tax deductible through Jesuit Social Services.
Help CAPSA continue supporting Catholics to stand in solidarity with refugees.
