Walk for Justice for Refugees this Palm Sunday across Australia

In advocating for the just and humane treatment of people seeking asylum in Australia, the Catholic Alliance for People Seeking Asylum (CAPSA) invites you to walk together on Palm Sunday. We will be walking in solidarity with members of Catholic and other school, church and civic communities in our local areas around the nation.

This year’s walks will call for Justice for Refugees, with different emphases in different places. In Melbourne it is Permanent Visas for all, Fair Processes and income support while in Sydney the focus is on Peace, given the impact of war on the refugee situation.

While the change of government at the federal election last year has brought hope for more compassionate polices, thousands of refugees and people seeking asylum are still in limbo waiting for justice and certainty about their future.

Below are available details for some gatherings, but there will be many more events in towns and cities around the nation. Further details will hopefully be available soon through church or civil notices or through relevant organisations in your local areas.
