Brenda’s story

WA - Brenda Lee project consultant MercyCareMy work with people seeking asylum started when I accepted a new role of project Consultant with the Mission and Culture team at MercyCare in December 2013. With a passionate interest in people development, I wanted to assist its mission to bring compassion and justice to life.

One of the projects, to which I was assigned, was to develop and implement awareness- raising programs in order to embed MercyCare’s organisational values of compassion, respect, courage and justice, across our workforce, with a particular focus on people seeking asylum in Australia. My work in this area has since expanded to influencing positive attitudes in the wider public through promoting community and workforce education initiatives.
