Learning English at the Park
On Monday 11th July, a group from Jesuit Social Services’ English Language Support Program went to the Bundoora farm and Parklands. Xavier College Staff picked us up from Broadmeadows and Thornbury in the school buses and took us to the farm. We saw many farm animals cows, sheep, horses, pigs, and lamas. The children went on a tractor ride through the parkland to see the Australian animals. Afterwards we had lunch together and played games in the park. It was cold and windy but we had fun. We spoke English all day and the children were so happy.
Jesuit Social Services’ English Language Support Program works with people seeking asylum through the provision of English classes, playgroup services, VCE tutoring and art projects.
