Sacred Heart Parish [Sandringham]

To raise awareness of the plight of asylum seekers, it advertises activities, organises guest speakers and encourages participation in a variety of events including protest marches and petitions.

Parishioners are involved in teaching sewing and English tutoring in the home.  The Social Justice Group has organised appeals for goods for asylum seekers and accommodation.  The Group reports annually to the parish and maintains links with other organisations such as St Joan of Arc Social Justice Group and the Brigidine Asylum Seeker Project.
